Poornalu

Description

Poornalu, also called Boorelu, are one of the most loved festive sweets in Andhra households. Each dumpling is filled with a smooth, sweet mixture of chana dal, jaggery, and cardamom, coated in a light rice–urad dal batter, and deep-fried to a golden crisp. The outside stays crunchy while the inside melts in your mouth with wholesome sweetness. Traditionally prepared for Varalakshmi Vratham, Navarathri, Sankranti, weddings, and other auspicious occasions, Poornalu symbolize prosperity and joy. Best enjoyed warm, they make the perfect festive prasadam, dessert, or family treat.
